I was a quiet writer, if that makes any sense. I didn’t let anybody read my work, and nobody but a few friends actually knew I was a poet. Then I came here and everything changed. My work changed dramatically as I found out what people liked and what they didn’t like. I became a better poet as time went on. I would just like to say thank you to Writing.Com for bringing out the best in my work. This is a great site that I’m happy to be a part of.

When I first came upon Writing.Com (then Stories.Com) a few years ago, I made a username and ended up forgetting about it. When I got e-mails reminding me about my account, I decided to seriously check out the site, and now I'm hooked. Before Writing.Com, I never showed anyone what I wrote, but now I have the courage to do so. I've gotten many helpful reviews that made me a better writer, and it also helped me decide to major in creative writing in college. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful place!!

I joined over three years ago, and I am so glad I've stayed on! I became addicted within five minutes! The inner writer in me has burst forth, and now I'm majoring in English in college next fall, planning on publishing, things I would've never dreamed of beforehand! Thanks to every supportive friend I've found on here!
I'm on sevearal writer's websites. I like the response I get from Writing.com. There's always some notice of what I post, much more than on most other websites. I write poems, book reviews, articles, and I wrote a book. I have nine articles that are excerpts from my book. I'm pleased that people on Writing.com read my articles. I hope that will interest them in my book.

I'm a newbie of just over two weeks and I've found my HOME FROM HOME. I can't wait to log on and see what's new everyday on this EXCELLENT site. There are so many things to get involved in, that it's sometimes difficult to log off!! I even have to fight my husband sometimes for the computer!!

In my short time here I've found very helpful and generous people, who try to solve any problems in all ways. They just make me feel so welcome!!

Thanks Writing.Com for such a wonderful experience!
I believe that this is a truly wonderful website. It offers excellent opportunities to unofficially publish your work as well as a system for rating and review.

Writing.Com has done wonders for me! I found this website last June while browsing the internet looking for the perfect website for writers. This website has truly allowed me to let my creative side loose and I am now about to get a book published because of how this website helped me become a better writer. Thank you!!!
Writing.Com is amazing! No, Stupendous. Breathtaking. Absolutely wonderful. In fact, the magnitude of goodness that Writing.Com is can't be expressed adequately in the english language. I signed up a month ago, and already I feel like a member of the community. And a great community it is, full of kind, honest, and accepting people. I recommend it to anyone who takes reading and/or writing seriously. Perfect. 6 stars. 3 thumbs up. Writing.Com, keep up the good work!
I've been here awhile now, and I've read many testimonials. I've not written one before now because I didn't think there was anything left to be said. Everyone has covered all the great aspects of Writing.Com. I didn't think that I could say anything that hasn't been already said.

I finally figured out that it didn't matter. I could repeat all that had been said, because it's the truth!

Writing.Com is a home away from home. It's my second home. It's the place I visit everyday to be with my friends and new found family. It's the site I visit to read and entertain myself. It's the site where I post my writing and receive helpful feedback.

It's the site I truly love. It's a site that everyone should try out.

It's the best site on the World Wide Web.

And, that's the honest truth.
This site is simply the best! I am have been able to develop my skills as a writer and obtain great feedback. I have also made some good friends among the many excellent writers out there. This is no doubt the best writers' site on the Web and I am so glad to have found it. Thank you StoryMaster and StoryMistress!
Having recently decided to write my first book, I had been spending a lot of time online looking for a "writing group" to join. (Per the advice of my mentor, a very wise woman!) Up until two days ago, I hadn't found a place that had a good number of members, or that felt "comfortable" to me! I kept looking. And looking is what I was doing when I found Writing.Com! I think fate was on my side that day, two days ago, and here I am! In just two short days I have found out just how lucky I was to come across this place. Writing.Com had provided me with so much information, and inspiration to boot! ;) I've already recieved great reviews on my writing, and am more inspired now than ever! Thank you so much to the creators and to those who maintain this site! Premium Membership/1 year - $135.00 Upgraded Membership/1 year - $45.00 Writing.com Membership at ANY level - PRICELESS!

It's only natural that I agree with the outstanding testimonials about Writing.Com. Like many people in the Writing.Com world, I was here when in was still Stories.Com. Now I'm not an extraordinary writer but it is something that I need on a day to day basis. I appreciate the opportunity for the Free Trial Premium Membership. It gave me a small glimpse at what I'm missing. One day, when I get my GPs built up, or some actual green stuff in my pocket (no not kiddies boogers!), I'll upgrade. Until then, I'll survive...because I have my Writing.Com family.
I just wanted to thank Writing.Com and all the people who have supported this site, creating a home for people like me- a creative place which has been so ingeniously put together, not only creating a community for writers, poets and everyone who enjoys to read and write, but to ignite our minds and fill us with magic and inspiration, adding such wonderful (and thoughtful) ideas to our overall enjoyment of writing. I love the emails, they inspire me to explore new genres of writing- as well as the rewards that come with becoming a bona fide member, as the incentives to write and gain recognition are just part of the genuine gift writing.com has given to me. Not only can I build a portfolio, but I can learn from my writing through others, and play with the words, building a place of my own, where I can share, and explore opportunities suggested through the emails, and gain benefits that are priceless. Thank you for giving me a place of comfort, a library to travel, and an opportunity to learn and wander about. Writing.Com is a priceless award for the efforts I have once kept hidden in a shoebox, and now share with thousands around the world.
Standing Ovation!!
I've been here three months and I guess it's about time I made it known how much I love this site. It's a truly amazing place, the sort of website you would never think could exist amongst all the garbage cons that exist on the internet, clogging it up. A place like this is a real gem, where for a small amount of money, or even for free, you can submit your work and get genuine feedback from the public. I've had over thirty comments for my work already! Thank you so much, Writing.Com. You have renewed my faith in the internet, and intoduced me to hundreds of other writers. You guys rock!

When I first discovered Writing.Com, I was in a bad place. I was deeply deppressed, and had almost ended my life many times over. Than I stumbled across this site one day, and I decided I would make an account, see what people think of my works. As of now, I really only have one story, but I have many ideas on more, and showing other people my thoughts really helps my deppression. In a way, I almost owe my life to Writing.Com.
I love Writing.Com. Even though, technically I am a newbie, the support here that I have witnessed is wonderful. I may have only been given two reviews so far, but I am sure there are more on the way and with that will come supportive encouragement. I plan on staying around for awhile if everyone stays as kind as they are now.

Simply the best. You may think a writer would write more, but there is no need to. This site is the best. Simple.
One fine day, I was searching the web for some information on haunted areas. Somewhere in that search, an entry from this site was recovered. I opened it, read it, and thought it was good. I checked up on what this site was about and fell in love. LONG LIVE WRITING.COM!!
I actually first discovered this site under its former alias, Stories.Com, about 2 years ago. I'm not sure whether I made a portfolio, but I'm sure I didn't nurture it as well as I'd liked. And now, at 16, I've come to fully appreciate the art of writing, and using more of the many features that this site has to offer! My aspirations are not to properly become an author, and others here are helping me reach this goal through friendly and constructive criticism. The community here is great, they're honest with you, and will give up time to give you that push in the right direction! Thanks for all the services you've provided me!
I've only been posting here for one month. The advice is great because it comes not just from great writers, but also from the casual reader, the kind of reader that makes up most of the reading public. Everyone is super helpful. I even was gifted by a complete stranger who loved my work enough to give me a year of basic membership for free! The contests are awesome and the ability to just randomly discover a piece and help make it better is even better! Thank you Writing.Com!
I am so happy I joined Writing.Com! I have shown people work I never thought I would show anyone, and I have gotten back so many wonderful responses. It is truly inspiring! I have met so many new and interesting people, and through helpful advice and practice I am becoming a more prolific writer and reviewer. This is also a great place for people who aren't ready to share their writing with the world just yet because you are able to read and review wonderful work by others for free.
My friend Mandi recommended this site to me when I was a Junior in high school. I wrote down a short story that I had written in my AP English class and logged out. Instantly I received reviews saying that we loved your story! I was shocked! So, I began adding more stories and poems. As the weeks went by I was asked to join campfires and many more reviews came in. Now I'm in my second year of college and all I have to say is, I LOVE this place!
Since I discovered Writing.Com in October 2003, I have become absolutely addicted to this site. In 2001, I began writing fanfiction for the 80's TV series, Hart to Hart, my all-time favorite show. Through doing that and from the positive feedback I began to recieve, I rediscovered a long put away passion for writing. I decided that I needed to do more than write fanfics. I began scouring the internet for sites that would help me develop my my innate aptitude for expressing myself through words. It's one thing to have a natural talent, but it's quite another to find the most effective avenues to help it grow and develop. Procrastination and a lack of confidence were my greatest adversaries before I found this place. Participating in the contests and challenges have sustained my lagging confidence. Meeting deadlines and being a part of the Daily Writing Challenge have helped with the procrastination issue. Having what I've written be reviewed, rated, and critiqued; and developing my ability to do the same with the work of others has helped me grow so much in just these few months that I've been here. I have linked my port to my fanfic site, and some of those readers have been coming here to see what's going on. I have also been speaking the praises of the entire site to my friends. Many happy hours have been spent here, and I anticipate many more to come.
Writing.Com has been an amazing place for me to visit, make friends and test-drive new material (both my own and the works of others) in the five months since I joined. The folks here are honest, fun and into writing, reading, editing, proofreading and all things related to literature! Whether I have looked for poems, short stories or novels to read, or to have an excerpt from my soon-to-be-published novel read by others, Writing.Com has provided me with an avenue through which to be able to do these things, while making connections with a greater audience of literary enthusiasts. Cheers to everyone here who has helped to enrich my experience!
